Choosing

Choosing a business to work with is the first step. What are you looking for in your Party Plan business?

Presumably you are wanting to build a thriving business. Party Plan is a direct selling method. It is a way to earn a part time or full time income. It is just like any other business in that it will take a great deal of effort and dedication to get it underway and an ongoing success.

I note down here a few ideas which I think you should follow up before choosing a company:

1. Can you show interest and enthusiasm in the products you will be presenting? If you have no passion for them this will be picked up by prospective customers. So will you use the products yourself? Do you personally know others who use them? What do they think?

2. How wide ranging is the target market? The narrower the niche the more difficult it will be to book parties. Ideally your products will appeal to young and old, all income levels at any time of year.

3. What about prices? How do they compare with goods in regular stores? If there is a lot of difference – why is that? Better materials/ingredients, better workmanship or overpriced?

You must investigate this to your full satisfaction before choosing. Would you be willing to pay the full price for these goods?

4. What kind of support is being offered by the company? Some Party Plan is organised by the supplying company. The consultants are looked after by managers.

The majority of Party Plan is organised within a Network Marketing system. This means that the consultants are looked after by their uplines. However, this is only as good as the immediate sponsor and the line in which the consultant has joined.

Whichever the type of organisation have some decent discussions over a period of time before finally choosing. Will there always be someone you can contact for advice?

5. How many consultants work with the company? Are there any within your locality? Is each consultant given freedom of area?

6. What is the average amount of sales per party? Be careful to think about whether the figures you are given are likely.

Are the amounts quoted the average for the company as a whole or is your sponsor telling you what is usual within the group you are looking to join?

7. What is the pay and award plan? Can you understand it? Work out whether the amounts offered at various sales bands are attainable. Also take note of the bonuses at various leadership levels and whether you could aspire to these.

8. What will it cost to become a consultant? The initial cost includes Registration plus Training and Sales manuals.A display kit is often supplied at a special rate.

What else are you expected to pay for? Stationery, brochures, catalogues? Hostess gifts and discounts?

However it is all conducted make sure that you take everything into consideration when calculating your likely income.

Remember that you cannot set up any business without some outlay.

You will probably find that other questions will come to mind. Make every effort to get satisfactory answers before coming to a decision. There are good points for all companies just as there are drawbacks for all.

Your task is to weigh up what is on offer and choosing the best for you and your circumstances.
